Experimenting with reversed video

In class, we have been attempting different techniques which could be used in our final production. Me and the person I was working with decided to use the video below as inspiration. The reason for this being is that I would quite like my piece to go against the norm in some way and be mind bending in some way. After thinking, we realised that executing this wouldn't be too difficult as all it involves is the actor walking backwards and then when the footage is reversed it will create the illusion that the actor is walking forward whilst everybody else is walking backwards. I feel that the final product was successful, and can be viewed below. The only problem however is there wasn't enough going on in the background to fully pull off the illusion. Therefore, I will probably go into town and re-do this as there will be many more people about and it will look better overall.

Initial A2 Media Pitch

After a lot of thinking, I have come up with a media pitch which outlines my basic ideas for my A2 piece. My basic idea so far is to make a short film with a fantasy genre that challenges some sort of convention, such as age or gender. An obvious problem is that a fantasy film is very ambitious for a A2 piece due to the fact there is no budget. However with time and effort it can be achieved. Some things to take into consideration would be the location, costume, props and so on. The location would be fairly easy to find due to living in a rural area. Costume and props may be harder to aquire though as they would collectivley cost quite a lot. So far, this is all that I have got as a story for the piece hasn't come to mind yet. Yet another important factor is making sure the piece is believable, as it would be set in a different time. To do this I would have to make sure there is absolutly nothing breaking this illusion. This is by no means the idea that I am definetly doing as there are some other ideas and concepts I would like to think about more and see if I can develop them further. This presentation outlines what i've said as well as showing some locations, costumes and props that could be used in the piece.
